DUDE! I need more of your work on this. You absolutely nailed it!

Thank you very much! I am still working hard on this project. Please look forward to it!

I am already looking forward to more of your work. I would love to have you as my monster designer. or commission for more designs.

Oops, I am very sorry!

I appreciate your offer very much... but I have to say that I decline all personal requests.

Thanks for answering all my questions far. I have two more -

1) what set are the faces/character sprites from?

2) Is there a preview low-res sheet or watermarked image I can see all the monsters?

(+1)

Regarding the character sprites and face images you see in the sample images, these were created in advance specifically for the sample images and are considered as temporary or placeholder images. Other than what you see in the sample images, we haven't prepared additional character sprites or face images yet. Particularly, character sprites may undergo some subtle stylistic changes.

The collection of character sprites and face images is scheduled to be developed after the completion of the current work on monster sprites and face images.

As for the monster overview image, I created it for personal use, primarily to compare sizes and colors in the side view. There's only one color pattern, but feel free to use it as a reference if you find it helpful.

How many front view vs side view are there? Trying to decide between this and your complete package, as I definitely prefer the 16 bit look

It contains 83 different monsters in front view and side view respectively.

In addition, all monsters are composed of 4 different colors, so if we include them

83x4=332 monsters for each front view and side view.

This monster material collection is a 16-bit version of the monster materials included in the "8bit Retro Graphic Materials All-in-One Pack.

Therefore, the "8bit Retro Graphic Materials All-in-One Pack" contains the same number of monsters.

The difference is that some of the monster designs are different.

Also, the monsters in the 8-bit materials are based on side-view combat, so the front-view materials use the side-view materials as they are, or simply invert the images.

Also, the 8-bit material is made using RPG Maker MV and MZ material standards, which means that there is only one size variation. In other words, each square has a resolution of 48x48 pixels.

We are still working hard on the 16-bit material!

I am planning to release walking and face graphics for all of these monsters by the end of this year or early next year, but it will probably take several years to complete the entire series.

If you can't wait until then, please consider purchasing the "8-bit Retro Graphic Materials All-in-One Pack".

I don't know how RPG Maker materials work. Am I able to simply use the PNG/GIF of the sprites in Godot?

Thank you for your interest.

Sorry, I have never used Godot, so I do not know how to apply the material in Godot.

However, all the images in this collection are simple PNG images that are not based on any special material standard, so they should work with Godot.

oh, that's perfect. Are you going to be remaking a lot of these as a 16bit pack? Have you considered Sega Master System style 8 bit? The 8bit sprites you have are amazing. I've actually made an entire game JRPG  in the style of Phantasy Star, but am only using placeholder graphics for it as of now. Do you take commissions? I am looking for an artist but not really sure where to start as this is my first complete game. I will purchase your 8 bit pack as soon as I can, because it's very close to what I am after, so it will give me an idea of whether or not that 8 bit style will work with what I am doing.

Sorry, but we are currently busy producing material and are not accepting outside requests.

However, I do plan to add more 16-bit collections in the future, and not just for monsters. It may take several years to complete. Although different from the Sega Master System, this 16-bit style collection is inspired by the atmosphere of Sega Genesis and Turbo Graphics 16. So it may be closer to the atmosphere of "Phantasy Star II-IV"!

Thank you!

Your work has inspired me to start my own videogame. :) I can't wait for more of it. Especially the full monster walking set and face graphics are going to be very important for me.

Again, great work and keep it up!

Thank you very much.

I hope you will find it useful for your video games.

As for the completion of this series, we are just getting started and it will be a long journey, but I hope you will keep an eye on it!

Seems like an ambitious project. Guess you’ve got much of the base work done at least.

(+1)

Ambitious, I guess... Actually, I haven't done anything with the graphics yet, except for the ones shown here and the monsters. Maybe I will redraw the main characters shown on the side-view battle screen as well.

In the meantime, the next work will be a complete set of walking and facial graphics for the monsters. Please stay tuned!

Oh, before I go, I also have the original non-pixel-art version of this monster, which I will be releasing soon!

Fantastic pack! Amazing quality monsters and clearly a wide variety as well. This is way outside of my pixel art experience so it is awesome to see, and very inspiring.

Cheers!

Thank you very much.

I am still learning pixel art too, so there were actually some technical changes while drawing about 80 different monsters.

I will continue to devote myself to it.

Been following your work on this for a while now and I have to say they look absolutely stunning! Great Work!

Thank you very much!

It is very encouraging.

You've done it again! These look beautiful.

Is this a 16-bit remake of the 8-bit assets?

When will the full set be done? I can try to be patient!

(+3)

Thank you very much!

Yes, that's correct. It's planned to be a 16-bit version of the "8-bit Retro Graphic" with an overall nostalgic feel. The "8-bit Retro Graphic Materials All-in-One Pack" took a whole year to complete. With the increased color depth in this 16-bit version, the production time has unavoidably extended, so it might take around two years to remake everything.

For now, the next project in line is a set of walking and face graphics that will be fully compatible with these monsters. I hope you can patiently wait for it!
